what is Islam

O you who have believed, why do you say that which you do not perform, it is said in the Qur'an. What a disgrace you are to God, saying what you do not do.
Muslims assert that the Torah and the Gospel are interpolations and not the actual books that Moses and Jesus brought. Who among those who level such grave charges against Judaism and Christianity, one of the oldest monotheistic religions, has read the Torah, the Psalms, the books of the prophets, the four gospels, the messages, the visions, and everything else that has been recorded in these holy Old and New Testaments?
is he persuaded that the rules of God, his instructions, the advice of the prophets and messengers, and everything else included in these books of commandments is false? Or does he keep repeating the distorted argument at the behest of the sheikhs and clerics who despise all other religions than Islam?
Why doesn't a Muslim utilise the personal intellect that God has given him to discriminate between good and bad, to separate the distorted from it, and to organise the sound? Why does he entirely give in to the sheikhs' manipulation of him and provide them complete authority to make decisions and think for themselves instead of him?
to instil in him what they desire.
You know that the Qur'an says that "the believers are all believers in God, His angels, His messengers, and His writings," and that "the Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord." Why then do the sheikhs restrict people from reading and studying our holy texts and from doing so so that they may know and judge for themselves whether they are accurate or distorted? Without the people and the individuals who have testimonies and educated, enlightened minds, are they the only ones who possess the most right minds to assess the holy books?
